Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced the cut-off mark for 2024 admission into tertiary institutions.

This cut-off mark was announced after the JAMB Policy meeting analyzing the results of candidates’ performance in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), including candidates with the highest score and institutions with the highest first choice application.

The policy meeting provides the avenue for admission exercise evaluation and formulation of admission guidelines for admissions into tertiary institutions for any academic session.

According to the board, the stakeholders expected at the policy meeting are heads of regulatory agencies such as the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National Council for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Heads of tertiary institutions in the country, and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), among others.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, upon conclusion of the policy meeting, approved 140 as the cut-off mark for 2024 admission into universities, 100 for polytechnics, and 100 for colleges of education.

However, individual institutions were permitted to raise their minimum benchmark approved at the policy meeting but were not allowed to go below what was approved for various institutions.

The policy meeting, chaired by the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, was held following the successful conduct of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
